Appointment of Director
We wish to advise that after 5 years on the Caravan Industry Association of Australia National Board (in addition to previous service on Boards at a national level), Gerry Ryan OAM has tendered his resignation from his position as Director from our Board.
There has been much achieved at a national level since the merger of CRVA and RVMAA back in 2014, and Gerry has provided incredible guidance and support during this time as a Director, while making a significant contribution to the Board. Gerry remains committed to Jayco and Caravan Industry Association of Australia.
In light of Gerry’s resignation, the National Board met earlier this week to discuss the matter of a casual vacancy as is provided to it under the Constitution.
There is much going on with regard to trade based compliance within our Industry at present, with a number of working meetings being undertaken to address how we as an industry can achieve better compliance outcomes for Industry and consumers alike.
Based on this, the Board determined that it was appropriate to fill the casual vacancy with an individual who had the necessary background and experience who could continue to assist the Association through these exciting but challenging times. The individual most suited to this was determined to be Garry Moore, the CEO of Jayco who has been invited onto the Board until the upcoming November AGM at which time he would be subject to renomination and election. We welcome Garry and look forward to his valuable contribution over the coming months.
This will mean that at the upcoming November election there will be six Board vacancies for which nominations from industry personnel will be called for in September.
We thank Gerry for his dedicated service to the National Board, and look forward to working with Garry over the coming months.
