Appointment of General Manager – Industry Development, Compliance & Accreditation

Friday 27 June saw the announcement of the appointment of David de Heus into the newly created role of General Manager – Industry Development, Compliance and Accreditation for Caravan Industry Association of Australia.

 

David comes highly credentialed and is well known within the industry through previous roles at Aircommand and more recently Thetford Australia.  David has also served on both the Boards of CCIA SA and CTIA Victoria including stints as Vice President (SA) and Treasurer (Vic) within these organisations.

 

The position was hotly contested in front of an interview panel which consisted of Mark Lindsay – current Chairman of CRVA, Chris Goddard – current Director of RVM Australia, Stuart Lamont – current Chief Executive Officer of CRVA, and Paul Hooley as an independent recruitment consultant.

 

Caravan Industry Association of Australia as a single national body carries with it many responsibilities for the industry, and has set itself many ambitious targets in its first year of operation, and David’s managerial experience and strong customer relationships will be critical in the organisation achieving these goals on behalf of the industry.  In the meantime this continues to be a very busy time for Caravan, RV & Accommodation Industry of Australia and RVM Australia as they continue business as usual ahead of the merging of both operations into Caravan Industry Association of Australia, due to take effect on 12 July 2014.

 

David will commence employment on 11 August.
