Caravan Parks are gearing up for the Easter Holidays

The Easter Holidays are one of the busiest times for caravan and holiday parks.  The long weekend – plus the week of school holidays – is the perfect size for people to hitch up the caravan—long enough to get out of the house but too short for a trip overseas.

This Easter holiday, parks are looking to give memorable experiences to their clientele.

Nobby Beach Holiday Village on the Gold Coast hosts a unique, family-fun activity every day of the week during the school holidays.

Marketing Manager Isabelle Sutherland says it will be “a tidal wave of family fun”.

“We’re cooking up free daily activities like egg hunts, movie nights, and pool shenanigans,” she says.

“Hold on to your hats, though, because we’re adding more cool stuff as our holiday haven fills up.

“Picture more live music, discos, magic/stunt shows, and wildlife spectacles.

“We’re all about that good old-fashioned family vibe during the Easter School Holidays, so our activities are tailor-made for some serious family shindigs.”

The village has been hosting holiday events since December 2019.

“And let me tell you, each year is like turning up the volume on a favourite song-it just keeps getting bigger and better,” says Ms Sutherland.

“We’re aiming for the kind of reaction that involves ear-to-ear grins, high-fives, and maybe a spontaneous happy dance or two.

“We want them to leave with memories of a holiday that’s not just a stay but an experience.

“The kind where they’re already planning their next visit before they’ve even packed up the car.”

Meanwhile, at Lake Tinaroo, family fun is quintessential to the owner’s business philosophy. The Bettini’s and Farquharson’s took up ownership of the park early in 2019. Active directors Shane Bettini and Lachlan Farquharson regularly visited the park as children.

“We knew the park and area well and knew we could make a difference,” Mr Bettini says.

“Our plan was to make sure people of all ages and abilities and young families could come and explore the majestic surrounds of Lake Tinaroo and the Atherton Tablelands and use our park as their base.”

That’s why events like this year’s Easter celebrations are so important to them. They’ve been hosting an Easter egg hunt since they first took over.

“We have a number of activities each day, including colouring-in competitions, craft clubs, fishing tours and basketball shooting comps,” Mr Farquharson says.

“On Easter Sunday, we hold our annual easter egg hunt where our guests all get to enjoy hunting for over 3000 easter eggs scattered around the top of our park.

“We also have a special golden egg hidden amongst the rest, which brings many prizes to the lucky person who finds it.

“We hope the activities and the easter egg hunt bring excitement and joy to our families that stay with us. Making it a very special Easter for all involved.”

Meanwhile, in Western Australia, the Cocking family are gearing up for their Easter tradition.

“Being family owned and operated, it’s important to us to continue keeping our traditions year on year for our wonderful customers,” says co-owner Laura Cocking.

“Slowly integrating the third generation (they’re slightly more interested in using the pool and slide than working at this point!), together we run Mandurah Caravan & Tourist Park.

“We’ve evolved the Easter Bunny visit over our many years in business, to be a ‘all in’ obstacle course in finding not just eggs, but other treats and vouchers along the way.”

Ms Cocking says holding events like the easter egg hunt play a significant part of how they develop their offerings.

“We’re proud that customers choose to spend their hard-earned dollars with us, considering the outstanding options they have to choose from in WA.

“Creating core memories is what we’re about, and it’s a pleasure to put these events on.”
