We are proud to announce the finalists of this year’s Future Leaders Award! This is an opportunity for the industry’s up and comers to be recognised and rewarded for dedication and outstanding achievements.

The winner of the Future Leaders Award will receive:

  • Up to $10,000 towards industry study or professional development
  • An opportunity to attend a Caravan Industry Association of Australia National Board meeting, to observe and provide input into important industry discussions

The other finalists of the Future Leaders Award will receive up to $1,000 towards industry study or professional development.

Our finalists for this year are:

Adam Twist
General Manager
Suncoast Caravan Service

Adam started working at Suncoast Caravan Service in 2013 (appointed General Manager four years ago) and is also a Partner in Southeast Fibreglass Services.

In 2018, he was elected on to the Board of Directors of the Family Parks Group, which has offered him valuable insight into another aspect of this industry.

One of his goals is to see nationally recognised trade qualifications become a reality, and to create a platform for the industry to attract young and passionate school leavers. He also harbours a ten-year plan to be involved in state politics.

 

Amanda Baldwin
Manager, Strategy and Acquisitions
G’Day Group

Amanda has held the position of Manager- Strategy and Acquisitions within the G’Day Group for nearly two years.

She has been an integral member of the group’s management team and has been leader in the acquisition of over 30 parks and provided critical strategy direction to the Board on major investment decisions.

In the last 18 months Amanda has been involved in pivotal G’Day Group investment decisions such as new glamping development on Rottnest Island and the annual strategy for the Group where pivotal technology investment decisions have been made.

Amanda is a chartered accountant and also holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance (Business Valuation).

Brad Hooper
Marketing Manager
AL-KO International

Brad is the Marketing Manager at AL-KO International. Over the past 12 months, their local business has grown significantly and Brad’s role has also expanded to include overseeing all marketing activities across our businesses in Australia & New Zealand as part of the senior executive leadership team.

He has been an active member of the Caravan Industry of Australia Future Leaders Committee since its inception in 2014 and is passionate about taking a leading role in this period of change and growth.

Brad holds a Bachelor of Multimedia/ Business Marketing, and in 2017 he completed a Specialist Certificate in Strategic Marketing at Melbourne Business School.

David Aitken
Finance Manager
Track Trailer

David’s role at Track Trailer is diverse and encompasses a variety of skills and knowledge. His responsibilities include finance and administration, payroll, human resources, OHS and IT. In his current role as Finance Manager he loves sharing his experience and being an active participant of the executive management team.

For David, the caravan industry presents an opportunity to combine business acumen with a passion for the outdoors. In the future, he sees himself developing into a strong leader of the industry, and is hoping to complete an MBA.

David holds a Bachelor of Business from Monash University and is qualified as a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).

Meher Virdi
Head of Innovation & Technology
Meher Trailer Products

Meher Trailer Products was incorporated in 1995 and started by Meher’s father, with the whole family heavily involved in growing the business to where it is today. Growing up Meher would often assist where possible and was continually learning about the industry.

In the near future, he hopes to integrate himself further into the caravanning community in Australia and around the World. He hopes to work closely with and educate members of the caravanning industry, whether it be manufacturers, dealers, consumers, or industry bodies. He is passionate about helping younger people become more actively involved in the industry.

Meher attended the University of Melbourne where he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of Mechanical Engineering. He previously worked as an Investment Banker.
