Caravanning and Camping Consumer Demand Report
The 2017 Caravanning and Camping Consumer Demand Report is the first in an annual series of research measuring consumer preferences, behaviour and intentions in a domestic setting. This report helps to identify opportunities within the Australian caravanning and camping market and inform the industry of the customer decision-making process, consumer behaviour and likelihood of future engagement with the industry.
Key findings in this report include:
- 70% of Australians indicated they had visited a camping ground, caravan holiday park or national park at least once in their lifetime.
- In the last 2 years, 7.1 million Australians stayed in a caravan holiday park, camping ground or national park.
- Of those who stayed in a caravan holiday park within the last 2 years, 58% utilised a caravan and 29% used a cabin.
- 79% of the Australian population have a positive purchase intention towards caravan and camping holidays.
This information can be used by businesses to understand their consumers from a marketing perspective to better targeted marketing initiatives and product development to suit the changing needs and wants of consumers.
