The 2014 Caravan and Campervan Data Report was recently released, highlighting the continued strength of our sector.
We are pleased to see a further increase of 5.3 percent in 2014 registrations of caravan and campervan, with a total of 556,844 registered.
These figures demonstrate that caravans and campervans remain the fastest growing vehicle type in Australia by registration.
The report also shows Victoria having the largest fleet with 26.2% of the total registered vehicles, and is also the location of the largest number of caravans 26.7%. Queensland has the largest percentage of campervans (23.9%) and accounts for approximately 33% of the gross increases in registrations across Australia from 2013-2014.
Highest number of registered caravans and campervans registered by postcode include Mandurah (WA), Bundaberg (QLD), the Fraser Coast (QLD), Toowoomba (QLD), and Mackay (QLD).
This new registration data comes as no shock, as Caravan Industry Association of Australia has seen RV production in Australia soar over the past decade. Recently released production statistics for March 2015 show a year on year increase of 8.3 percent, with year to date production 13 percent higher than 2014.
