Caravan Industry Association of Australia is very pleased to again be involved with Australia’s Gay Nomads at the 40th annual Sydney Mardi Gras.
Along with Caravan and Camping Industry Association of New South Wales we will be supported by Apollo Motorhomes with a float in the parade next weekend.
This will mark our second year of being involved with the celebrations, with our ‘Let’s Go’ float including a rainbow logo and bright lights featured in the special SBS television broadcast of the 2017 celebrations.
Last year’s ‘Let’s Go’ float was one of only 20 featured in the special broadcast.
The LGBTI travel market in Australia has been identified as an area of opportunity for the caravanning and camping industry and represents approximately $965 million each year.
The LGBTI market is also considered one of the highest yielding niche segments in tourism with regards to spend per night and many within the segment having disposable income and enjoying spending on leisure activities.
Caravan Industry Association of Australia has implemented several strategies to reach and attract this market, including working the Gay Nomads Group and the Rainbow Accreditation Program launched at last year’s National Conference.
