First Retail Dealership Accreditation License Agreement Signed
The first license agreement has been signed under the new Retail Dealership Accreditation Program (RDAP), which became available from 1 January 2017.
Caravan Industry Association of Australia commends Australian Caravan Company (ACC) from Adelaide for successfully completing the accreditation process to become the first retail dealership in Australia licenced to display the Accreditation Key.
General Manager of ACC Matt Slee said, “We are very pleased in not only being accepted into the RDAP program, but also in being the first dealership in the country to be carrying the Key. This is a great compliment to the entire team at ACC and a defining moment for our industry. We believe this is just the beginning in collectively raising our sector’s profile and professionalism. Being recognised through the assessment process has validated that we are in fact on the right course in all areas of our planning, operations, systems and customer service”.
What is RDAP?
RDAP is a Caravan Industry Association of Australia voluntary initiative, specifically designed to recognise retail dealerships who are committed to strong business practices looking at performance levels in business operations, regulatory compliance, and sales processes. It also provides a framework for good business practice and encourages continuous improvement underpinned by regular external reviews against the program’s criteria.
Caravan Industry Association of Australia CEO Stuart Lamont said, “RDAP joins the successful Caravan/Holiday Parks Accreditation Program and the Recreational Vehicle Manufacturers Accreditation Program (RVMAP) in yet another significant step towards our desire for a robust, compliant and sustainable caravanning and camping industry”.
To become an accredited business and display the Accreditation Key, retail dealerships must meet program standards and be assessed for compliance against these standards. To help with the task of documenting business practices, Caravan Industry Association of Australia has provided a number of self-help templates that can be utilised to assist individual businesses through the process.
To assist in the promotion of businesses within RDAP an exciting consumer promotion will be launched at the National Conference in May to drive awareness of RDAP and the broader accreditation key carried across other business sectors within the industry.
