Concept Caravans has continued it’s managed expansion with the official opening of their new dedicated manufacturing facility for their Franklin brand at Barry Road, Campbellfield on Friday 28th July.  The new facility was partly funded by the MNIIF grant program (a Federal and State Government initiative in conjunction with Ford Australia to encourage investment and employment in Melbourne’s Northern Suburbs in light of the departure of car manufacturing in the area).  The expansion has already generated 26 full time positions (ahead of the 20 jobs committed through the project) and when fully functional could produce up to 450 units a year.  The facility was opened by Frank McGuire MP, the local member for Broadmeadows and the Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business and Innovation within the Victorian State Parliament.

Franklin has been a long standing brand in the Australian caravanning and camping industry and this new facility is testament to the confidence in the industry by the Directors of Concept Caravans.  The new factory brings the total number of facilities in the Hume region within the group to six.
