The latest edition of The National Caravan and Recreational Vehicle Towing Guide (Towing Guide), published by the Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW (CCIA NSW) is now available nationally for touring enthusiasts for free on an eBook format. Alternatively, a printed copy can be ordered through the various state associations.

There are over 400,000 registered recreational vehicles, including caravans, camper trailers and tent trailers in Australia and this figure is said to increase each year by 20,000 units. As touring holidays continue to grow in popularity it is essential that travellers can find the latest information and technical facts that assists them to tow a caravan or recreational vehicle, Lyndel Gray, CEO of the CCIA said.

“This guide is a ‘must have’ for everyone who tows as it provides a wealth of information that not only includes helpful hints and tips but also technical and mechanical considerations for towing.”

“The guide is a useful tool for both beginners and avid travellers. It combines information on everything from regulatory requirements, preparation for towing and definitions of industry terminology through to facts on couplings, braking systems and insurance. Most importantly, as the guide has been reviewed by 9 technical experts we are confident that the content is relevant and consistent with national road and towing regulations,” said Ms Gray.

The Guide is distributed through all caravan and camping associations throughout Australia, at caravan and camping shows throughout the country and can be viewed in ebook version or ordered in hard copy from www.towingguide.com.au.
