The Australian Standard for gas (AS/NZS5601:2) for Recreational Vehicles was published in 2020 and has seen significant change.  These changes were based around technology advances as well as regulator’s perception of risk of injury or death to consumers.

While many industry businesses externally contract licenced gasfitters as part of their manufacturing process, liability towards the consumer ultimately remains with the manufacturer / importer.

To assist industry businesses better understand their obligations under this important Australian Standard, Caravan Industry Association of Australia has created a new educational website RV GAS READY.
