Sunrise promotes partnership of Let’s Go Motorhomes and Tour de France team

,

The Tour de France is one of the premier sporting events in the world and now the caravan and camping industry is officially involved.

This year, Let’s Go Motorhomes is sponsoring the Mitchelton Scott team at the event and bringing the Australian caravan and camping lifestyle to the international stage.

“Motorhome holidays and cycling are a naturally popular combination in Europe” said LetsGo Motorhomes General Manager Tom Newsom.

“We are keen to raise the awareness that the same style of holidays can be undertaken in Australia, exploring the fabulous Australian coast and outback. The Tour de France is one of the most watched spectator sporting events in the world and increasingly people are choosing to holiday based on their personal hobbies, be it food, wine, golf or cycling.”

Cycling is not only a means of staying fit and healthy, but also a great way to get outside and enjoy the fantastic sights and nature around Australia. It is an activity enjoyed by many individuals and families, with the 2017 National Cycling Participation Survey revealing over 55% of homes had at least one bicycle.

Young children have particularly high levels of cycling participation, with 43.8% of males and 37.4% of females aged under ten years having ridden in the previous week.

Cycling is also an activity which aligns strongly with the values championed by the caravan and camping lifestyle, including getting back into nature and enjoying Australia’s outdoor lifestyle.

On Wednesday, July 4, Channel 7’s Sunrise weather team will be broadcasting from NRMA Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park for a special Tour de France event.

“It’s fantastic to see the caravan and camping lifestyle being kept front of mind and we are excited to see Let’s Go Motorhomes take our industry to an international audience at the Tour de France,” said Caravan Industry Association of Australia CEO Stuart Lamont.

“We were pleased that we could  facilitate the connection and continue to showcase the caravan and camping industry to a national TV audience surrounding what is a hugely topical and relevant international event.”

“The caravan and camping lifestyle and cycling are both hugely popular so this is a great opportunity for the two to come together.

Make sure to tune in to Sunrise on Wednesday for an exciting feature from popular weatherman Sam Mac showcasing the uniqueness of the lifestyle along with giveaways and mini cycling races.

The event is sponsored by Let’s Go Motorhomes and will include an appearance from retired cyclist and Olympian Baden Cooke, who competed professionally between 2000 and 2013.

LetsGo Motorhomes have been subtly aligned with Mitchelton Scott for more than a year, but the Tour de France marks the first time the brand has been featured on the race jerseys.

The LetsGo Motorhomes logo will feature on race jerseys, team transport, uniforms and merchandise for the Tour de France.

The race is broadcast in Australia through the SBS network live commencing 7th July.
