Infrastructure grants secure prosperous future for caravan parks
Caravan Industry Association of Australia has proudly worked alongside the Federal Government to deliver the $10 million Caravan Parks Grant Program.
Over the past 18 months, the program has provided grants of between $10,000 and $100,000 to 110 caravan parks across the country.
These grants have been used to fund infrastructure improvement projects at each park, with the aim of heightening visitor experiences.
With the infrastructure projects now complete, the Federal Government announced the program’s completion over the weekend.
Caravan Industry Association of Australia Chief Executive, Stuart Lamont, said the program’s successful delivery underscored the significant contribution caravan parks make to regional and local communities.
“Caravan parks are major economic drivers for Australia’s tourism sector, generating almost $14 billion of revenue each year,” Lamont said.
“With 90 per cent of Australia’s caravan parks located in regional areas, these, and the millions of caravanners which travel this great country each year, are the lifeblood of many communities across the country.
“Supporting these parks through well-targeted funding, like that offered through the Caravan Parks Grant Program, is essential, as it helps deliver more attractive visitor amenities and a more appealing and contemporary overall product.”
Lamont thanked the Albanese Government and Federal Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator the Hon Don Farrell, for supporting the program.
Caravan Industry Association of Australia General Manager – Government Relations & Corporate Communications, Luke Chippindale, said the collaborative program was about more than just delivering funding – it was about ensuring quality, customer-centric outcomes for generations to come.
“The results are proof that when government and industry collaborate effectively, we can achieve outcomes that resonate nationwide,” Chippindale explained.
