Australia Unfiltered: help your customers put caravanning and camping in the national spotlight

20 October 2026

Australia Unfiltered is run by Caravan Industry Association of Australia through its consumer brand, Let's Go Caravan & Camping. It invites everyday Australians to share the real moments of caravan and camping holidays: the sunrise at camp, kids on bikes around the park, the rig set up at a favourite beachside spot. Entries opened on 1 October 2026 and close at 11:59pm (AEST) on 28 February 2027.

Why we're running it

Our industry competes with many other holiday and leisure options for consumer attention, especially heading into summer. Australia Unfiltered keeps caravanning and camping in front of Australians right through the season, using real images from real travellers.

The competition is designed to:

  • celebrate the caravan and camping lifestyle through authentic visual storytelling
  • drive consumer engagement through entries, voting and social sharing
  • build a library of high-quality, reusable images that show the industry at its best in national and state marketing
  • give the industry a regular stream of positive stories, with monthly winners as well as overall winners

That last point matters. Monthly winners give us regular chances to showcase top entries and present the industry in a positive light right through to the end of February.

Led by Sean Scott

Sean Scott is an award-winning Australian landscape and ocean photographer, a Canon Master and a Tourism Australia Ambassador. He is one of Australia's best-known photographers, with galleries on the Gold Coast. He also knows this lifestyle first-hand, having travelled with caravans and camper trailers for around 20 years.

As ambassador for Australia Unfiltered, Sean is backing everyday Australians to get out there and capture the real thing. He also judges every prize in the competition, so each entrant has the chance to have their image seen and selected by one of the country's most recognised photographers. https://www.instagram.com/seanscottphotography/

How it works

There are two entry categories:

  • Park Life Unfiltered: everyday moments at an Australian caravan or holiday park.
  • The Camp Setup Unfiltered: the caravan, camper trailer, motorhome, RV or campsite setup, wherever the journey goes.

Every approved entry also goes into the People's Choice public vote. Entrants can submit as many images as they like.

The total prize pool is $7,000. A finalist image from each state and territory will also be published as part of the judging process.

Early results

More than 360 entries have been received in the first weeks of the competition, from campfires under the moon to sunrise from camp. The first monthly winners will be selected from October entries and contacted within 14 days of the end of the month.

You can browse the entries and vote in the Australia Unfiltered gallery.

Let's Go Caravan & Camping is already sharing standout entries on social media. Take a look at the Park Life entries showcase and the entries reel, then share them with your own customers.

How your business can get involved

Your customers are already taking these photos. Whether you run a caravan park, sell or build RVs, or supply the gear that gets people on the road, you can help them turn those moments into entries.

There is also something in it for your business. Winning and finalist images will be shared nationally through Let's Go Caravan & Camping and used to promote the industry. If a customer's winning shot was taken at your park or features a van from your yard, your business could be showcased to a national audience.

"Your customers are already taking these photos. Let's help them share them with the country," said Keelan Howard, General Manager Marketing & Communications at Caravan Industry Association of Australia.

"Customers are your best ambassadors, and this is a chance to activate our community in the best possible way. They already love our industry, they are honest with us and they help shape us. Pulling this campaign together and getting Sean on board was exciting, and it added real value and purpose to the campaign."

Simple ways to get on board:

  1. Share the competition on your social channels, website and customer emails.
  2. Encourage guests and customers to enter while they are on site, at handover or after a trip.
  3. Put up signage or QR codes around your park, office or showroom.
  4. Download ready-made social tiles, copy and imagery from the AusUnfiltered Digital Pack.
