Caravan Industry Association of Australia provides a suite of free online tools to help industry businesses design, build and advise on safe and compliant recreational vehicles, both towable and motorised. Each tool steps you through the required inputs and provides an on-screen result you can save or share.
The tools are built around the formulas and rating checks that come up every day in design, manufacture, retail and repair work, and they are available to businesses that contribute to the national association.
Calculate a trailer’s Gross Trailer Mass (GTM) Rating using the approved formula, supporting compliance for brakes, wheel and tyre loads, and trailer categories.
Estimate the minimum load carrying capacity required for a towable or motorised recreational vehicle, based on sleeping capacity, water, gas and common accessories.
Predict how fitting additional components or accessories will change the towball or coupling weight of a Towable Recreational Vehicle.

Compare VIN plate information against the ratings of the components actually fitted, and screen for discrepancies in chassis, axle group, Trailer Gross Axle Load Rating, safety chains, coupling and tyres.
