Every year the industry asks the same question in different ways. Are people still travelling? Are vans still selling? Are parks still filling?
The Caravan and Camping State of Industry report answers it with numbers rather than anecdote. Now in its 11th edition, it is the leading report on caravan and camping performance in Australia, and the one the industry, government and media turn to when they need the facts.
The 2026 edition covers calendar year 2025, a year shaped by cost of living pressure, three interest rate cuts and an 11% lift in outbound international travel. The industry held its ground.
Sixty pages across the whole industry, not just one part of it:
Manufacturing moderated while caravans grew their share, registrations and park revenue both rose, and occupancy lifted across every site type. The figures behind each of those, and what sat underneath them, are in the report.
For the current headline national figures, including more recent periods than this edition covers, see our industry statistics page. Each figure there is published with its period and source.
The report is produced in partnership with the state caravan and camping industry associations, drawing on Tourism Research Australia, national registration data, manufacturing and import figures, and park performance benchmarking. That joint investment is what allows research at this scale.
