Successful Partnership with Tourism NT Inspired Caravanners / RVs to head north
Caravan Industry Association of Australia is thrilled to celebrate the successful conclusion of our partnership with Tourism NT in Darwin. This grassroots campaign aimed to inspire Australia’s caravan, camping, and road-tripping communities to consider the Northern Territory as a must-visit destination.
Congratulations to our winning family, the Hyslop family, as they continue their incredible “lap of the map” road trip via Queensland, NSW and finally home to Victoria. Their multi-generational adventure, shared with the children’s grandmother, is a beautiful reminder of the joy and connection that caravanning can bring.
This initiative involved over 460 caravan park and tourism businesses across the NT, generating more than 55,000 entries—all as a result of consumers directly engaging with these businesses. Importantly, the campaign had a measurable impact on behaviour, with 29% of participants extending their stays and 44% engaging in tourism experiences they had not previously considered.
Campaigns like this are vital to the industry, bringing long-term benefits to all stakeholders. By encouraging RV owners to embrace the full value of ownership and adopt a lifelong passion for caravanning, ‘campers for life’, we strive to create a more sustainable and thriving industry.
