Caravan Industry Association of Australia partners with Tourism NT to drive visitation north and support regional Australia
Tourism NT’s 2025 Drive Campaign is a national initiative encouraging Australians to “road trip differently” by exploring the Northern Territory’s unique landscapes and cultural experiences.
Central to the campaign is a partnership with Caravan Industry Association of Australia, which is helping to inspire caravanners, campers, and road trippers to head north this year.
In doing so, the campaign not only supports visitation to the Northern Territory but also delivers broader benefits to regional Australia, as many travellers will journey through New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia to reach their destination. This dispersal supports local economies, tourism operators, and regional communities along the way.
This partnership is a strong example of how national industry bodies and state tourism organisations can work successfully together to deliver outcomes for domestic tourism. It reinforces the important role the caravan and camping sector plays in driving regional dispersal, longer stays, and increased visitor spend across Australia.
The campaign also positions camping as Australia’s number one holiday, highlighting the freedom, flexibility, and affordability it offers. It continues to demonstrate the value of RV ownership and camping participation, encouraging more Australians to embrace the lifestyle and explore their own backyard.
As part of the campaign’s consumer engagement strategy, a free-to-enter online quiz is also being promoted via northernterritory.com, offering participants the chance to win an $11,000 self-drive holiday along the iconic Explorers Way. This simple and fun entry point adds real consumer value, sparking inspiration for road trips.
