Caravan industry’s economic contribution to economy grabs media headlines
Last week, prime time radio program 4BC Drive with Mark Braybrook featured a segment on the caravan industry’s contribution to the Australian economy.
4BC is Brisbane’s premier news and talk radio station.
Peter Clay, Caravan Industry Association of Australia General Manager of Research and Advocacy, was interviewed on the program and discussed jobs within the industry, regional spending, and the industry’s $20.4 billion contribution to the Australian economy.

Caravan Industry Association of Australia’s Economic Value of the Australian Caravan and Camping Industry report revealed the industry provides jobs for more than 53, 000 direct employees and contributes approximately $20.4 billion to the economy each year, with 90% of spending taking place in regional towns.
The report also attracted attention from Triple M, ABC and Fairfax.
