DexKo Global Acquires G&S Chassis and Hume Caravan and Camping Accessories

Caravan Industry Association of Australia today welcomed the announcement that DexKo Global has signed a definitive agreement to acquire G&S Chassis and Hume Caravan and Camping Accessories to expand its Australian operations.

DexKo Global Inc. is a global leader in highly engineered trailer running gear and chassis assemblies and related components, while G&S Chassis and Hume Caravan and Camping Accessories are Australian family-owned businesses in their respective fields of chassis manufacturing and supplying a diverse range of accessories used by leading caravan manufacturers nationally.

“This announcement today furthers affirms the trend towards consolidation within the Australian caravanning and camping industry, providing more streamlined efficiencies for both industry and consumers alike,” said Caravan Industry Association of Australia CEO Stuart Lamont.

“Caravanning and camping as a holiday option continues to grow in popularity with last year representing the highest recorded period of domestic visitors and nights, the largest fleet of registered recreational vehicles, and the second highest year of manufacturing in 37 years.”

“Announcements such as this can only assist in providing even better outcomes and experiences for consumers choosing a caravanning and camping adventure.”

DexKo Global CEO Fred Bentley said he was excited to welcome the G&S Chassis and Hume teams to the DexKo ogranisation.

“These acquisitions allow us to expand into chassis manufacturing and supplying an even more diverse range of products in Australia through the integration of two leading businesses.”

“We truly believe together is better for all of our businesses and this is our next step toward obtaining our DexKo 2020 vision.”

“I am excited by the opportunity to integrate G&S and Hume into the DexKo organization,” AL-KO’s Australian Managing Director Peter Mannfolk added.

“I look forward to the already successful G&S and Hume businesses continuing to service customers, whilst adding the additional support of AL-KO in Australia and the global chassis manufacturing expertise of DexKo to take chassis manufacturing in Australia to new heights.”

The transaction has the strong endorsement of the Inturrisi family as the owners of G&S Chassis and Hume, including Rob Inturrisi who will remain within the business as General Manager, along with many other members of the Inturrisi family.
