Dusseldorf Caravan Salon Attendance

UPDATE: It is with sadness that we communicate the passing of Hans-Karl Sternberg, long-time Managing Director of the Caravaning Industrie Verband (CIVD), since this article was published (pictured fifth from the left). Caravan Industry Association of Australia expresses our sincere condolences to his family and colleagues at CIVD.

Recently, Caravan Industry Association of Australia CEO Stuart Lamont chaired a meeting with leading representatives from Caravaning Industrie Verband (Germany) and Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (United States) as part of the Dusseldorf Caravan Salon.

The purpose of this meeting was primarily to hear a presentation from Chinese delegates about their hosting of the 4th World RV Conference in 2017.

The meeting also discussed ways in which the three peak national organisations – Caravan Industry Association of Australia, Caravaning Industrie Verband and Recreation Vehicle Industry Association – can work closer together around research and the sharing of technical information.

Particularly with the anticipated MVSA Reforms still to be made to the existing legislation in Australia, it remains important to foster close relationships with these two strong national organisations so that consistency around regulatory and compliance obligations are understood.

A teleconference and meeting is planned to take place prior to the end of the year to further discussions that were raised at the Dusseldorf Caravan Salon.
