Exciting New Technology Partnership for Caravan Industry Association of Australia
Caravan Industry Association of Australia has signed a multi-year partnership with Outdoria in a move to further embrace technology for industry and connect with customers online.
As Caravan Industry Association of Australia’s official online partner, Outdoria brings a tech solution specifically designed for the caravanning and camping industry, including a newly launched online booking channel for consumers via their revitalised brand Go See Australia. Both Outdoria and Go See Australia are powered by Marketplacer, a leading technology and business platform used globally by people and businesses that want to create successful online marketplaces.
Chairman of Caravan Industry Association of Australia, Mark Lindsay, said “This is a sensational opportunity for our industry, providing a platform for our existing online database to transact with industry businesses, while connecting into larger online communities to showcase the opportunities available within caravanning and camping. We are excited to further embrace technology in a fast moving business environment, while providing both a commercial benefit to industry plus substantial financial and marketing support for the peak national body.”
The partnership is multi-faceted and includes joint initiatives around content generation and distribution, research and data insights, as well as marketplace development. As the partnership launches, the focus will be on Go See Australia, which will connect the consumer directly to caravan parks and enable online bookings. The partnership will also investigate opportunities for an online transactional platform for trade related products at a later stage.
General Manager for Outdoria, Drew Davies said, “Caravanning and camping is a significant sector of the tourism industry, generating over $2 billion worth of direct transactional business and yet consumers are limited in their choices for online bookings specifically within the industry. Partnering with Caravan Industry Association of Australia provides an excellent opportunity to build a bespoke solution for the industry while bringing together two online communities, which will provide benefits to both parties”.
Mark Lindsay said, “In its simplest terms, we bring the people and the passion for caravanning and camping while Outdoria and Go See Australia bring a technology solution – this partnership connects the two in a transactional environment. As new technologies and online transactional platforms become more and more important in today’s business environment, it’s important for the peak national body to explore these opportunities and at the same time, bring vital funding to the association to further enable us to undertake activities on behalf of the industry.”
The partnership was officially launched at the 2017 National Conference, aptly themed Expanding our Horizons.
