Caravan Industry Association of Australia joins Digital Champions project

Caravan Industry Association of Australia is very pleased to have been selected as one of 15 industry associations to be involved in the Australian Government’s Small Business Digital Champions initiative.

The Digital Champions initiative is designed to assist businesses engaging with digital technology and unlock their potential to become more effective, competitive and profitable.

As part of the project, 15 industry associations have been selected to be part of the Small Business Digital Champions Project and are being provided $100,000 over two years to establish a digital advisor role.  This advisor will work with our member State Associations to create relevant educational material to support the digital transformation of businesses throughout the caravan and camping industry.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking your input to advise us on what digital areas of your business you would most like support with.  A short 5-minute survey is available to collect this information at the link below and is open until the 30th of August.  Your feedback is vital to ensure we provide you with the most relevant advice to support your business.

Benefits of digital transformation

  • Around 99 per cent of all businesses are small, contributing $393 billion annually to our economy and employing 5.7 million people.
  • Deloitte’s Access Economics Connected Small Businesses 2017 Report found when small businesses are digitally engaged, they are 50 per cent more likely to be growing revenue, eight times more likely to be creating jobs, seven times more likely to be exporting, and 14 times more likely to be innovating new products and services.
  •  Using digital tools, such as online marketing or e-commerce, small businesses can expand into new markets, including overseas, and attract additional customers.
  • Automating and digitising numerous processes not only frees up time for small business owners, it can lead to a reduction of stress and anxiety levels. These factors help small business owners put their full attention on what is important — spending time with their family and growing their business.
