CaravanCampingSales Future Leaders Award Finalists Announced

There were twenty-nine nominations for the 2016 CaravanCampingSales Future Leaders Award.  It was pleasing to see representation from all sectors with a diverse range of experience and geographical locations.  What stood out was the quality of individuals within our industry seeking to make a difference to the future of the caravanning and camping industry.

It was a tough field this year so congratulations to the six finalists!

Scott Jones – Jayco

Gabby Montagnese – New Age Caravans

Shane Fagan – CUB Campers

Danella Mitchell – FreeSpirit Resorts

Michael McIvor – Broken Hill Caravan Park

Justine Schuller – Dometic

The finalists will be invited to attend a judging process that will be conducted on the Gold Coast prior to the National Conference. The finalists will then be recognised at the Gala Dinner on Friday 13 May where the winner of the CaravanCampingSales Future Leaders Award will be announced.

The winner will receive:

  • Up to $15,000 towards industry study or professional development.
  • An opportunity to attend a Caravan Industry Association of Australia National Board meeting, to observe and provide input into important industry discussions.

Caravan Industry Association of Australia CEO, Stuart Lamont, said, ‘What is exciting is the calibre of young people within our industry wishing to be more involved in state and national forums, as well as the success already shown by many of these individuals within their own businesses.  This should provide existing senior decision makers with a great deal of heart that there is quality renewal with the potential to lead the industry forward into the future’.

The inaugural Future Leaders Conference will be held on 11 May this year alongside the National Conference, which is a great opportunity for our industry’s under-40s to network, learn from influencers and have a say. Check out the Future Leaders program to see what’s on this year’s agenda.
