The Let’s Go 2016 National Conference program is packed full of inspiring speakers, breakout workshops, tours and social events.  With so much to look forward to, we’d like to highlight some of the key topics that will be fuelling discussions and generating ideas this year on the Gold Coast.

 The Upcoming Election

Barely months away from a likely double D federal election, this hot topic is likely to feature as much in the social spaces as it will be in the program.  We trust delegates will enjoy engaging their industry peers in political conversation at the many networking opportunities.  We have Matt Hingerty of Barton Deakin presenting on the topic of ‘Engaging with Government’, who’ll be providing insight into how the election is likely to impact our industry and effective ways to raise business specific issues with candidates.  There’s also John Peters, a senior economist at the Commonwealth Bank, who will ‘Interrogate the Federal Budget’.  He’ll be speaking on the state of the economy and what 2016/2017 Federal budget means for us as an industry.

Digital Marketing

All business owners need to be savvy digital marketers now that technology has fundamentally changed the way we do business and reach our markets.  Nick Condon from Business SA shares ways to help your digital communications cut through information overload when it comes to content … and he’ll be doing this with toilet paper!  We also have Jason Wyatt from Marketplacer to speak about generating new leads with reference to technological changes.  Lead generation is as important as ever so we expect delegates will glean some interesting and advantageous ideas.

Cyber Security

We live in a cyber world and we now have to think about protecting our digital assets as much as we do our more traditional assets.  Delegates can anticipate learning valuable strategies from Arno Brok of the Australian Information Security Association in his presentation ‘Secure our business’.  He’ll speak about ways you can protect your business and what you can do if the unthinkable happens.

Future Trends

Craig Rispin of Future Trends Group helps us to ‘Step into the Future’ when he speaks about major trends that will affect our business.  As a futurist and innovation expert, he’ll share how business will transform in the coming years and how we can keep up, and even profit, from the changes.  We are interested to find out what our businesses will have to look like in order to thrive in the 21st century.

Keeping it Light!

We’ll be capping off each conference day with a speaker who is equally as insightful as they are entertaining.  David Galbally AM QC is an exceptional storyteller and one of Australia’s leading QCs with plenty to say about crime, corporate conduct and current social concerns.  We’ll also be treated to the lowdown on body language from international expert, Allan Pease.  He’ll show us how to interpret body language signals when negotiating in business … or with the opposite sex!

These are just a few highlights based on what we see as key topics at this year’s conference.  You can download the full program on the conference webpage to see all topics and speakers and also book your ticket if that’s still on your to-do list – only three weeks to go!
