Say G’day to the biggest thing in regional tourism
With regional travel booming across much of Australia, the G’day Group today launches G’Day Parks – the nation’s largest community of independent parks.
Rising from the impact of COVID-19, G’day Parks invites Aussies to “say G’day to more of Australia,” with more than 280 properties in the country’s most sought after destinations.
Celebrating the launch, Tourism Australia and G’day Parks are rolling out a collaborative “holiday here this year” campaign, inspiring people to book a G’day Parks summer holiday.
CEO of G’day Group Grant Wilckens, says that while it’s been the toughest year in the company’s history, he’s never felt more confident in the future.
“Today, we launch what we hope will become an iconic Australian tourism brand, synonymous with authentic Aussie experiences,” said Grant.
“Our network is made up of around 65 owned parks and 220 independent parks, that together make up the largest regional accommodation group in Australia.”
“Over the next few months, we’ll be introducing G’day Parks to the nation, supported by the best tech in the industry – an intuitive new website and app.”
Tourism Australia Managing Director, Phillipa Harrison said Tourism Australia was pleased to be partnering with G’Day Parks to encourage Australians to take a domestic holiday.
“With summer just around the corner and border restrictions easing there’s never been a better time for Australians to get out and holiday in this incredible country of ours, which is what we’re urging people to do as part of our Holiday Here This Year campaign,” Ms Harrison said.
G’day Parks is born from the transition of the Top Parks brand and network of properties acquired by the G’Day Group in early 2018. These independently owned properties are coupled with the Discovery Holiday Parks portfolio to create an industry leading Group.
The launch coincides with the G’day Group acquiring a number of new properties across Australia, achieving its goal of becoming a $1 billion business by 2020.
“This launch is a huge milestone for our Group after a rollercoaster year. Bushfires and COVID cost us millions, and it seemed unlikely that we would be achieving our 2020 target,” said Grant.
“But here we are, finishing 2020 with the launch of Australia’s biggest regional accommodation group and recording the strongest booking volume in our history. Having founded the company 14 years ago with just three parks and big ambitions, I couldn’t be prouder,” said Grant.
G’day Parks is about wide-open spaces, campfire stories and adventure. About connecting with people and memorable holidays the whole family can enjoy. And, with more holiday parks in more places, it delivers unmatched choice and freedom, great accommodation and, of course, a warm and welcoming g’day.
“With the majority of our properties being independently owned, and in regional areas, staying at a G’day Park is putting money directly into the pockets of regional Australians at a time that it’s never been needed more,” said Grant.
